On HBO's "Real Time With Bill Maher," funny man Ed Helms was on to defend "Dr. Seuss' The Lorax" - a children's animated feature coming under fire due to its cross-promotion with Mazda CX-5.
Helms felt looking at The Lorax as a tale of pure environmentalism was "silly" - "I think that's sort of a very simplistic take away. It's really about - 'just be responsible.' My view of The Lorax is really, 'don't be greedy.'"1
CX-5 might be under fire because of a film's ad campaign, but it's doing very well as far as testing goes. The small SUV received an IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) Top Safety Pick, and "snagged "Good" ratings across the board, including front, side, rollover and rear crash tests." This adds to the vehicle's "good reviews that include praise for its fuel economy and best-in-class handling."2
